Data Center Noise Impact
Data centers primarily emit continuous, low-frequency noise ranging from 20 Hz to 250 Hz, driven by large cooling chillers, fans, and diesel backup generators.
Key Characteristics of Data Center Frequencies
Low-Frequency Range: Most mechanical hums, air chillers, and cooling tower fans operate and generate tonal peaks below 250 Hz, with some massive cooling equipment and rotating machinery producing deep sine waves down to 20 Hz. Diesel generators typically add tonal spikes around 31.5 Hz to 250 Hz (and specifically 75–90 Hz depending on engine RPM)
Adding Isolation Mounts will manage this noise distribution.
